Jim played Ben Gunn in TREASURE ISLAND - A MUSICAL ADVENTURE at The Fulton!

Marc Robin and Curt Dale Clark created (and directed) this spectacular new adaptation of the classic adventure novel by Robert Louis Stevenson. Jim played both the evil Blind Pew (who sets the adventure in motion for our young hero, Jim Hawkins) and Ben Gunn, the crazy man who was marooned on the island years before (photo below courtesy of Fulton Theatre). The show was greeeted with a spectular response from audiences, and the run was extended by a week. September 18 through October 21, 2018.

Jim performed in two developmental readings of VILNA

In February and June 2018, Jim joined a talented cast of actors to present a reading of the new play VILNA (f/k/a VILNIUS), by Ira Fuchs. Presented at the Museum of Jewish Heritage in Manhattan, and at Hunter College, the play chronicles the horror and heroism in the Jewish community of Vilna, Lithuania as the Nazis tested their "Final Solution." Jim played Professor Ehrenkreutz and Einsatzgruppen officer Achamer-Piffrader. The project was directed by the exceptional Joseph P. Discher. It is challenging, necessary, and unforgettable.

Jim played Uncle Billy in IT'S A WONDERFUL LIFE: A LIVE RADIO PLAY!

The Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey presented IT'S A WONDERFUL LIFE: A LIVE RADIO PLAY at the end of 2017, and Jim played George's hapless Uncle Billy - not to mention Peter Bailey, Ernie the Cab Driver, Martini, Old Man Gower, and others. Directed by the gifted Doug West, the production was a hit with adults and kids alike. The show, like the 1946 movie on which it was based (director Frank Capra considered it the greatest movie he ever made), carries an inspiring message about the ways that every person touches and changes the lives around them. Jim played Anselme in Moliere's THE BUNGLER!

It was the most makeup I've worn since I had to be perpetually dirty in THE GRAPES OF WRATH.
